As a 50 yr old who has only recently entered the world of JB and was lucky enough to be at the concert what can I say. Why don't we have a radio station in sydney that give blues artists such as Joe the airtime it deserves. I first heard JB on a sydney station in where the dark Alice Cooper was the host. This was around twelve months or maybe more ago. After hearing the song I sent an email to Alice asking who the hell that guy was he responded with "are you joking man" its one of the best guitarists on the planet JB. That week I went to my local guitar shop bought a cheap Fender Squire and booked some lessons. A few months later i purchased a Tokai Love Rocks guitar and have been shredding ever since. In addition to this I have four dvd's and five cds and the collection will continue to grow. Joe has given me the inspiration to get off the couch and go crazy with home made blues. What a concert, the sad part is I now have to wait three years before JB returns to our shores to again rock the halls. If I win lotto in the mean time I would travel to where ever he is playing and follow the tour for as long as the money is available. If you enjoy the blues and have not heard of Joe Bonamassa you are missing some of the best music your ears will ever hear

This is the 3rd time i have seen Joe and he just gets better.I have followed this man since the days of bloodline and you could tell back then he was going to be Brilliant! This guy is a master of the Guitar and i put him up there with Clapton, SRV, Carlos Santana,Buddy guy,and BB king just to name a few. He seems to be getting more popular in Australia now.

Well what can I say? - After "discovering" Joe 3 years ago, I couldn't wait to get to the concert. I took a handful of friends along who didn't know of him at all and they all came away fans! Just hope he tours with Black Country Communion at some stage? a fabulous show by an awesome talent.

No bells and whistles, this was a concert about music. Joe warmed the house with some beautiful acoustic performances to begin, then the band joined him. It was a flawless performance of refined standards. It is great to hear a blues musician playing original tracks that are well written and beautifully performed.

It was a great experience. Brilliant guitarist with a very professional band . Moments of delicate guitar work , followed by some powerful playing. Our first experience of Joe live.A very enjoyable night.

Joe started alone on stage with only an accoustic guitar and filled the auditorium with rich and wonderous sounds,but it was when he strapped on his electric guitar and along with his band, that he showed us he was trully "The Master".
Joe gave us 2 hrs. of pure energy that came in varied forms, from the most sublime gentle fret work to the dirtiest high powered rock finale.
I would find it hard believe that there is a better Blues/Rock guitarist out there.

In a word - astounding! To see Joe and band play live, is an absolute priviledge.
In a way, it's a shame that they aren't a mega-star act, but that's better for the people in the know. Joe and band played the Palais as though they were playing in the most intimate of venues and to a very small select audience - Fantastic!
To hear classics like 'Sloe Gin', 'Midnight Blues', 'Driving Towards The Daylight', and 'Dislocated Boy' is pure joy. Joe (with Tal) on the acoustic set shows what talent that has been bestowed on arguably the best live blues player for this generation and possibly all generations. Closing ones eyes, you could almost feel people like Gary Moore, Stevie Ray, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, and other guitar legends watching from the audience with their approval as Joe and band pay homage to the guitar greats.
All styles, all genres and everything in between - the band (and Joe) played the lot.
Go again when they tour next? Absolutely!

Was only introduced to Joe's music several months ago but now becoming a big fan.
My anticipation before the gig was immense and Joe did not disappoint at all.
Outstanding guitar technique and sound. Refreshing to hear a great guitar player that uses all the strings available and not only the bottom of the fret board. (G3!!).
Joe's stage volume must have been quite loud as I could initially hear the Marshals breaking over the PA.
After the Ballad of JH volume went up appreciably and needed to use attenuators from then on.
Surprisingly, the sound was somewhat better due to the reduction of inherent building reverb which I believe gets much worse as volumes increase.
Now the keyboards could just be heard, the bass lost a lot of it's furriness and vocals were cleaner.
Mix overall was of very high standard although I found the kick drum a bit toooo punchy for the bass guitar / drum combo
The drummer was a scream!! Very entertaining to watch. Fabulous solo... Must love entertaining a lot.
Light show was "nice" maybe a bit subtle. Overall show was visually somewhat subdued compared to other acts. NOT COMPLAINING THOUGH. Just mentioned it. Once in the groove, had the eyes closed anyway..
Set list was diverse in styles so I was able to savour all the magic moments.
There were no average songs during the set list. Loved them all.
Can't wait for him to return. I'll be there

I have been to many concerts over a very long pieriod of time and I'd have to say that the Joe Bonamassa concert at the St. Kilda Palais was the best ever. Bonamassa is playing music the way it should be played and performed. In my opinion he is one of the best all time Guitar players. Joe deserves to be up there with the very best. We were very satisfied that we saw him at the Palais and not in some big venue where the intamacy is lost. One of the greatest performers of all time with a great band. Sensational.

What an awesome guitar slinger this guy is. The band were very tight and worked well together. Joe's playing whether it be acoustic or smashing electric was just brilliant .
The only down side we could see was the loudness, we felt that it detracted from the music itself and was bordering on distorting at times.
Overall would definitely see him again

My first Joe concert and was amazed stunned entertained and inspired. The concert was like an action movie in music...never a dull moment. I know JB is well known world wide, but its amazing how many music lovers have never heard of him. He truly deserves more recognition. His performance is impecable, and displays his true talent in every set. I will never miss another JB concert. Please keep coming back to OZ Joe.
The only negative is he doesnt chat much on stage..at least not in about his music much.

This was an unbelievable experience. The tone of his guitars was fantastic and so easy to listen to. He makes complex sound simple. Never overwhelming the other musicians with volume. In fact I think the drummer was a bit over the top, but very good.

The performance was as breathtaking this year as it was when we saw them last year. What an extremely talented band of musicians. Joe's guitar playing is awe inspiring - what a talent.
