Ms Krall strolled on stage a little after 9.30 wearing a red spanish dress ensemble and after exclaiming dramatically how glad she was to be here sat at the piano and went into a very fast tempo version of "I love being here with you" ending with an excited "hows that!!" to her ensemble.
Her next song was "do it again" which was wonderfully sugestive and evocative.
Subsequent set song choices were very subdued and frequently allowed her fellow band members and the Sydney Chamber Orchestra prolonged solo and ochestral interludes which some audience members seemed to find frustrating and hoping for a little more vocals from Ms Krall which were not forthcoming.
The barely ninety minute set had some great moments and Ms Krall's stage persona in telling stories about her family to the audience were very endearing.
An overall failure to keep the audience engaged throughout I feel was due to a lack of video screens to allow people in the higher rows to see Ms Krall's facial expressions and fingers on the keyboard while she played and the sound mix did not allow the piano parts to be clearly heard when the chamber orchestra was in full swing. A few more uptempo songs in the setlist would also have helped maintain peoples interest.

Favourite moment: A very beautiful and romantic encore of "dancing in the dark" with a lovely string section backing from the Sydney Chamber Orchestra. @
Opening act(s): I would have preferred two hours of Diana Krall. Gardot was very charming and the saxophonist was great. @
