Grimethorp are the worlds best and they showed why they have the title last friday.
Tops. magic
The sound from the staige of the State theatre to the upstairs lounge was the best
from the Grimethorp memberrs.

The Grimethorpe Colliery Band concert at the State Theatre Sydney was just fabulous. The venue is really outstanding, and the band is world class. Heard some pieces I had not heard before, "Pines of Rome" and "A Fistful of Dollars" gave me goosebumps, as well as some favourites such as the cornet solo in Vilja which was just spectactular. Looking forward to them coming back to Australia...soon I hope!

This was an amazing performance of Brass Band playing by completely professionally players who were in complete control of their respective instruments.. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire night.

This show was a complete knockout from start to finish,
The Conductor was a show of his own.The soloists also were world standard and could also stage a show of there own.

The night from start to finish was first class loved every minute The contrast of music played and the comic entertainment was great and the volume from pp to fff was fantastic thankyou boys for coming and can't wait for for your next visit

This is the second time that I have seen the GCB and found it even more amazing than the first. The absolute professionalism of the band members puts them in a class above the rest. I would go to see them every time that they come to Australia.
The individual talents of the players was exceptional! The soloists were unbelievable.
eg: The 17 year old lead cornetist, the soloist cornetist and the tuba soloist were a few highlights but I have the feeling that these could have been performed by many more members of the band than what we saw.

The band was brilliant. Technical execution and emotive relay. The conductor had a very down to earth manner with humour however if I had any negative comment it would be that his humour downplayed somewhat the professionalism of the band.

As brass band enthusiasts this concert exceeded every one of our expectations. Content ,sound, professionalism, humour were measurable in the delight and ovations shown by the audience. We did not want the concert to finish.

Had an amazing evening, took my Mum for her birthday treat, a fantastic night of entertainment. Very talented and 'funny' moments were really fun'. Would definitely see them again, should they visit Oz.

An extraordinary brass band performance balanced by a pleasant amount of banter and humor. Our children, aged 10 (learning trumpet) and 12 (euphonium and trombone) were rapt, and fascinated by the visual spectacle of brass in action. We will remember this night forever.

What a fantastic performance - we really enjoyed the band's playing. It was wonderful to hear a brass band with such execution and the ability to vary the volume so much :-)
We thoroughly enjoyed their choice of music and would love to hear them again some time.
Was great, too, to see such sparkling clean instruments (and shiny shoes)
All in all, we were disappointed when it finished! Wonderful!
