Cirque du Soleil was everything I'd hoped for and more. Brilliant, well paced, colourful and awe-inspiring. The individual and ensemble performances were incredibly polished and amazing. Some were so spellbinding that the large audience was completely silent, collectively holding their breaths at the daring exploits they were witnessing. All this supported by an accomplished band and all the technical wizards plus the backstage crew.

I have seen all Cirque du Soleil's shows that have come to Sydney and by far this was my least favourite. It was half filled with slapstick gags that I felt could have been better saved for a cheaper circus troupe not one with such a high standard of performance.
As with the previous shows, eg - Alegria, Quidam, I was expecting a fusion of gymnastics, flair and exceptional talent. I felt that only a few acts lived up to past performances. A few jaw dropping moments, but for most of the performance, I was left yawning.
The change of format from bigtop to arena was also greatly disappointing - I feel it lost its mystique.
Also, the merchandise was very poor - no masks, umbrellas, just a few coffee mugs, cds and a keyring. Very disappointed as I know Cirque are capable of magnificence. Was a pity as my fiance hadn't seen any shows before and also left bored and nonplussed.
I hope the next show is back to its old format with more of the feats of human strength and athleticism rather than filling the show with poor humour.

You see it on TV and think it is amazing......well that just does not compare to the real deal!!
Everything from the sound & lighting to costumes, comedy and performance was absoloutely unbelievable.....There were some real 'edge of your seat' moments as well.
This is a MUST SEE - please come back to Hobart soon Cirque!!!!

circus was great the first half was brilliant but the second half was quite a let down we were expexting a grand finale but it was brief did not hold the excitment of the first half and then came to an abrupt holt,so that left us feeling a little flat

I really liked it, but I was expecting amazing and it just didn't get there for me. I thought some of the acrobatics was a bit out of sync and there were a couple of mistakes.

wow what an amazing experience to see this performance have never been to anything like this before and for the show to come all the way to little old tasmania what a treat for all us hobartians..... highlight was my husband up on stage and play acting with the mimer he was in his element and had never done anything like that before in his life.... great show, great people and hope to see them back again... well done to the event organisers and the proffessional entertainers

Cirque de Soleil: Saltimbanco was awesome, the cast, lighting and musicians were superb. The venue was a little less than perfect we were packed in closer than Qantas seats minus the arm rest!

I was happy with what I saw of the show. The seating was not good enough for it to be a completely enjoyable experience.The performers were quite good however there were a couple of obvious errors in some performances. The trick cyclist was amazing and in my mind carried the show. Some of the show appeared a little tired along with some of the costumes.Was it worth the price? I'm not convinced it was.

I saw Saltimbanco in Melbourne, which was my first time watching a show by this international company. I didn't really know what to expect, but after seeing it, I was incredibly impressed by the fusion of circus, music and dance that is Cirque du Soleil. It was a no-brainer to see it again when it came down to Hobart, my hometown. Make sure you go to see these guys, they are amazing!

This was fantastic!! I think the size of the DEC was perfect. Somewhere like Rod Laver Arena would seem to big I think for the type of show it was. Thoroughly enjoyable.

the performance was colourful and fast moving. The performers were so athletic, they must have been in training for many hours, days, weeks. They were graceful, strong, fit and full of vitality. Very entertaining.

We went and saw Dralion in Sydney a couple of years ago and it was much better than Saltimbanco. The first half was a bit slow. Got going in the second half. Really missed being in the big top. Didn't quite have that circus feel.

Absolutely amazing show that I would recommend everyone see!!! It is a full performance piece of colour, music, dance and acrobatics that will blow your mind. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time waiting to see what would happen next. I did not want to miss a minute of this spectacular show. Highly recommended for all.

An amazing spectacular of colour and sound Cirque du Soleil was even better than we imagined.
The show is equally packed with comedy and acrobatics that leave you gobsmacked.
My family loved this show, we would go back again and again - certainly they are the creme de la creme of circuses!!!
