To class TCV as "the best gig of the decade" would probably raise a few eyebrows. Being in 2010 though, this seems rather appropriate.

I went both nights, having made a decision to take my father (now approaching 60), who saw Zeppelin at Kooyong donkeys years ago after Friday's performance. Having first seen QOTSA @ 12 yrs of age, the Foo's at 14 and being raised on a diet of Zeppelin, Floyd et al, I viewed the show on saturday as a way I could truely reciprocate some love for the education I was provided with in my early years.

A killer set ensured, with the band being even more charged up than on the Friday. Highway One proved to be groovier the second time, and when Reptiles emerged late in the set (after having not appeared on Friday's set list), I was overwhelmed with happiness.

After the gig, I asked my old man "so how did they stack up against Zeppelin?". The answer was quite pleasing : "Oh, they're up there. That Drummer was unreal and they played the best boogie I have ever heard (Warsaw).

Both nights where kick ass, and I would be quite satisfied if TCV went hard for the next decade given the phenomenal chemistry of 2010's best live show.

These guys were absolutely incredible - whats more, by going to the Riverstage we could actually -see- them from most places on the hill. Only thing that could have been better was the support act - they werent bad but they didnt exactly get the crowd psyched up.

Great performance. Dave Grohl at his best, probably the best I've ever seen him. John Paul Johnes prooved why he is one of the best musicians in the world and Josh Homme was just a great frontman. As a whole, absolutely amazing. You could just feel the positive vibe, the atmosphere was unbelievable. Thank you for this, think I'll remember this one for quite a while.

FANTASTIC GIG NOW ZEPELIN NEED TO DO A GIG NOW

JUST WISH THEY COULD HAVE ADDED A SONG OR TWO FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE BANDS TO MAKE IT OUTSTANDING AND POSSIBLE ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE SEEN.

Them Crooked Vultures were average. I was disapointed with there audience participation. They didn't seem like they wanted to be there. i was near the front too and shouting, dancing etc with everyone, so it's not like the crowd was bad.
I would buy the show dvd next time.
Still love them!

the concert was really awesome, Josh Homme's voice was perfect and beautiful. John Paul Jones worked his magic as he does, but seeing Dave back on the drums was amazing.... Overall it was the best concert ever!
But the night didnt end there.....
I had been lucky enough to get hold of a backstage pass for the Aftershow, so as soon as it finished we headed down to the gate and since we only had one pass, we stuck it on our daughter and got in with her!!!
We got to party with Dave, Josh and John for a hour and had so much fun. The guys where so nice and Josh and Dave loved her. Josh was trying to give my daughter all the lollies and compared muscles with her too,Josh danced with my hubby and Dave gave her his drumstick to! Most amazing night ever. My daughter met her idol...so cool. :)

These men are truly amazing.

Apart from their superb playing it was their real connection that stood out the most. You could see from how they interacted on stage that they were in this band because it's where they wanted to be.

Musically it was the best show I've ever seen. All four were really tight but not stiff or over rehearsed. Masters of their craft, they inspired me to listen more carefully and really get to appreciate what was going on before me. At one point I looked around and saw a sea of hypnotised souls taking it all in.

Maybe the supergroup of supergroups, the time that the have had together playing live is starting to reap rewards. Dave Grohl and JPJ's rhythm section being one of the tightest i've seen afte many years of concerts and festivals. Allan Johannes skills complimenting Josh's powerful licks throughout the night.

Crooked Vultures were fantastic at Riverstage, such a great atmosphere. The guys were in a great mood and were really friendly and playful with the crowd. The support band however really, really sucked. All-in-all though a great show!

A very hot humid evening with a big croud set the tempo. Of course they played the whole album with a lot of improvisation. Couldn't take my eyes of Dave Grole, he is one of the best hard rock drummers around and added a real wow to the whole night. Josh Holme was in fine form with his famous voice and guitar style, and just to even have John Paul Jones on stage with them was incredible. I left thoroughly entertained WANTING FOR MORE. I guess this may be the first and last time they may ever play our shores so i bought up lots of keepsakes from the marketing stand which was packed with great stuff.

The energy and verve displayed by Them Crooked Vultures was to die for.
John paul Jones looked like he was really enjoying himself; more so than I'd seen on later Zep DVD's. Dave's drumming didn't tire and he made sure of every beat.
The mosh pit was fun but the mix got better as you went back.
