Favourite moment: Watching McGrath take back to back wickets @

This is the first time I have ever got to see some of the greats play cricket live. I have only watched the likes of McGath , Gillie and Warney on TV.
For me, it was a magical few hours. I am sorry I couldn't hear the commentary given by these Greats as I watched, that was reserved for those watching it live at home.
I was disappointed to read of all the "don'ts provided by the Gabba.
Despite that There were still a few Mexican Waves and a few beach balls being knocked around. One made its way onto the pitch and was returned, to much cheering, by a player.
I am sorry that the event organisers do not cater as much for women.
Choices of refreshment were - Beer, Beer or Beer. I prefer cider or even a glass of wine

Very disappointing, mainly because it was boring. I had two 15 year old cricket fanatics with me who were bored and disappointed at the level of cricket. The friend I arranged to meet at half time had gone home to watch it pon the TV and the others with him had also left early.
I heard a comment on Monday that maybe sums it up - only aussie could bore you with 2020.

Our family travelled from Toowoomba to see the match and I must admit it was fantastic to watch. My daughter was upset that she was unable to get any autographs. I know that it is very difficult to organize that kind of thing but I did think that maybe before the matches the players could walk around the field and sign autographs for children as they are so excited to see their favorite players. Many of the children would have travelled a long way to see the game and to be able to get the signatures of players would just top it off for them.
We found the commentating excellent and also the screens for the replays great. It was an unforgettable night.

earplugs helped this time - if we have to have music, can it be a bit restrained, in both volume and selection?
The cricket spectacle was entertaining

My Mum and I had a fantastic time at the cricket Sunday night.
The atmosphere was electric although there were only 16,000 odd spectators.
As usual, the food prices were ridiculous - $5 for a small carton of hot chips. Like many families we took our own food/coffee - thankfully the Gabba allow you to take these into the field. If the food outlets could charge more reasonable prices, I am sure they would sell more items.
It would be great if the main commentator for the evening could have let the crowd know more about who was bowling/batting etc - not as great as listening to the match on telly.
Gilly, Warnie and McGrath all signed autographs during the match which was great for the young kids. We waited 30mins after the game in the hope that the players would come out and sign autographs but they didn't ... :(
Not to worry, we had a fantastic night.

We were happy with the performance on the field. It would have been good to have a little more commentary over the PA system, as the game wasn't necessarily a serious game, playing for points that is. We watched the last part on TV when we got home and it was more entertaining due to the fun commentary from players and professionals.
However, in saying that I made a decision on the night NEVER to attend a cricket match at the GABBA again as I could not purchase a glass of wine to have a drink with my partner and enjoy the game. I have never heard of anything more ridiculous in my life that they ban wine. I can understand spirits as the alcohol content is high. But to deny females the opportunity of enjoying a drink the same as males (not many women drink beer) is unacceptable in this day and age. We have a wine at the Rugby, League and AFL. Sorry that is the last time I will spend money on cricket tickets at the GABBA. I will watch it from home where possible.

I was very disappointed.
The timing of the game - Sunday night, should have been a Friday night. Due to the fact kids to school nest day and work.
The crowd only about 16,000 spectators.
The players not signing autographs, mainly the Australian X1.
The ground as they could of had the commentary from the channel 9.

Fantastic night! Great atmosphere! Only complaint - the players with microphones need to have the conversations played through the ground speakers so we can enjoy the conversation like viewers at home can.

What a great night - very entertaining game of cricket. It was so great to see the old favourites - Warne, Hayden, Gilchrist and McGrath. Some great new stars emerging too. Great to see some sixes hit as high as the GABBA by old and new players - spectactular. My 10 year old had a great night and it was made even better when Adam Gilchrist took a break from the game to give his autgraph to the kids (and some adults). Half time entertainment was also great - Jessica Mauboy was fantastic. Would defintetly go again - just the right amount of cricket!!!

Great night for most. The general noise and behavior of the people also great. I am 70 and to see the ones our age group, we can relate too coming out of the moth ball was a good idea and should be pushed for more.
One suggestion: The TV comentry, which we got told about after we got home, was brilliant and should be part of the broadcast at the stadium. At least part of it.
Finaly, if you would not have broadcasted it in Brisbane, we would have had a lot more people attend.
Hope to see more like it.

To see Glen McGrath, Adam Gilchrist, Mathew Hayden and Shane Warne in action was amazing. David Hussey, Peter Siddle were worth the watch. It was fun but my son who is 9, we let go to the game but there was a huge number of kids in his cricket team and at school who wanted to go but getting home at 11.00pm and then school and cricket training the next day was hard.
If this had been a Saturday so much better, to kids these guys are heros, and they are the future of going to see games.
loved it very much even more if there had not been the pressure of the next day.
