Although we admire his dedication and brilliance in his performance we feel that he failed to relate to tunes that were popular to the audience. What he played may have been of liking to his personal repertoire however newcomers to the concert such as us that ventured out through his notoriety from reading about him an his reputation from others failed to distinguish the pieces he was playing.
Although we were in awe of his total concert an uplifting of tempo to awaken us was required. There is no taking away of his brilliance but we were slightly let down knowing that his true concerto achievements from Beethoven, Chopin and others was lacking.
