Really enjoyed the sail on the Leeuwin. something i have wanted to do for years..but only just got the opertunity.. wish i was young again because i would deffinetly want to be part of the crew.. keep up the good work...

Favourite moment: I welcomed during the return leg the point at which the diesel shut down and we were entirely under sail. Unforgettable. @

My interest in sail began in 1940 when I was able to board the Passat and the Lawhill in Bunbury harbour. The accounts by my grandparents on their six-weeks trip from the UK added to this.
While the Leeuwin is the little sister of these ships I did at last have the unique experience of being aboard a vessel under sail.
Congratulations to the builders for their fantastic attention to datail in construction and rigging and also for the organisation which have offered this unique glimpse of the old world of ships.

Wonderful time on the Leewin II, plenty of sailing time out on the sea, with the opportunity to help hoist the sails and climb the rigging.
There was plenty of finger foods served by the friendly and helpful volunteers.
Just make sure you take a jacket or cardigan as despite it being a warm day when we went out, the breeze off the ocean got a bit cool.

The sail on Saturday was an exciting adventure for passengers with interaction and participation with the crew. The volunteer crew of young people with their sailing knowledge and displaying good team spirit were a pleasure to watch as they went about their duties.

I decided to take my son, his wife and their three children on the Leeuwin for a short sail and we had a great time, I honestly dont know if the adults or children enjoyed it more. The kids could "take the helm" and climb a little in the rigging while we got to enjoy the views and whole expierence. So different from anything else I have ever done.
I agree with the last reviewer; this is not a gormet experience but I dont feel that detracts from it as a whole.

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Crew were fantastic and great to see volunteers putting in the hard yards. Highly recommend it for the sailing experience and getting close to those big container ships outside of port! Nice to also get a go at sailng the big girl.
Only slight negative - this is not a GOURMET experience, its all about the ship, packet pizzas and sausage rolls are the light refreshments and water is in the hold out of a plastic cup! Bring your own drinks (not sure of you can bring champers along but would be great if you could!).
