This is the 3rd time I have seen Dweezil and his band. This time they played a lot of old stuff from the 60's & early 70's. It was great to see & hear this again.
Although the venue had its negative points I enjoyed the informal atmosphere of the show. It was seeing them in a pub.
I look forward to the bands next visit.

Where to start!!
They played lots of old stuff from the 'mothers' collection of franks earliest albums.
the quality of the music was epic as always with dweezils crew..
some of the old team with joe travers, sheila and of course dweezil tearing it up and some newcomers that fit in without missing a beat.. literally.
gave heaps of time afterwards to meet an greet..dweez must have spent an hour after the event taking photos and signing stuffs!
hope to see them back in melbourne soon!

From go to keep going, this was a standout highlight performance for me. So early in the year too. Dweezil Zappa is a magnificent guitarist and ALL that accompanied him on stage matched his splendour including Melbourne Guitarist Brett Garsed, Holy moley was this show a treat. Frank would have been proud! Keep him alive and yourselves a s well.

This was the music of a genius, played lovingly, faithfully and (most importantly) PERFECTLY AND WITH FEELING!!!
This is everything zappa was, and it is just so impressive.
Venue sucks with its no pass-out policy, and it was VERY hard to get a good view if you weren't on the balcony rails or in the front of the pit..
but the sound, and show were 5 out of 5!

Checked out Dweezel and co in Melbourne, mind blowing concert 3 hrs long and does Frank proud. Loved early the freak out delights. Franks music is still ahead of its time and has passed the true test that is Time. Thanks Dweezel for the Zappa continuity and for the enduring legacy.

Sure Frank was looking down and was impressed with this magical performance. All band members were fantastic musicians with their own amazing talents. Fun show with the ability to really play live. Great Venue.

I took my 35-yer-old son and another of that age (a guitarist). They were every bit as in love with the performance as I was. We had such a fantastic time, that we will all turn up again if it happens some time in the future. When Frank was alive, I was not aware of how important he was. Reading and listening to his recordings in the past twenty years (and performing some of his music) have made me a welded-on enthusiast.
Dweezil not only does a terrific job of reproducing his father's music, he also manages to do it in a manner that retains its authenticity. The level of improvised performance in the styles of individual participants - e.g. Brett Garsed - would have been prized by his daddy. Instead of trying to mimic solos that have been recorded by others, the protagonists were all encouraged to give thair own take on solo spots. The result was that Frank's original aesthetic was preserved.

Dweezil is a gifted talent as one would expect given he is Frank's son. Frank's catalogue is almost endless and Dweezil can keep doing this every 2 years for the next decade. If so I would continue to keep seeing him.
As an older fan I would prefer a seated venue (like Hamer Hall) but leaning against the handrail 1st floor balcony was still pretty awesome.
The sound mix was pretty good , but on occasion I found that some vocals and the wind instruments were lost in the background.
Like his Dad Dweezil brings humor to his performance and like Frank just gets better and better as time moves on.
